She is a PhD graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and a bachelor's degree holder in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Penn State University. Christa has an extensive professional history, having held various leadership positions throughout her career. She is a former CEO and co-founder of OpenAQ, a platform aimed at harmonizing air quality data for increased accessibility and interoperability. She served as Chief Air Pollution Advisor to the Medical Director at the U.S. Department of State and as a Climate Fellow at Echoing Green.
