Amy Hafez, a Molecular Genetics and Microbiology Ph.D. graduate from Duke University, boasts ample experience in the biomedical research industry with special attention to the interface between cancer research and infectious disease agents. She is also skilled in the areas of health policy, science policy and communication, and biomedical research.

Along with an M.S. in Biotechnology from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Biology-Microbiology and Chemistry from Salisbury University, Amy served as an American Chemical Society/AAAS Congressional Science & Engineering Fellow at AAAS, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education (CTCRE) at University of California, San Francisco. She was also a Health Policy Fellow at the United States Senate.

Amy has been part of various eminent organizations such as the Duke Initiative for Science & Society, Duke Science Policy Interest Group, and Emerging Leaders Institute, Duke Graduate School, to name a few. Besides, she worked as a Graduate Researcher at Johns Hopkins University and Research Assistant, Public Affairs and Civic Engagement Office at Salisbury University.

With her extensive research experience and health policy background, she effectively combines her knowledge in the biomedical field with policy initiatives.
