Felicia Ienculescu-Popovici
Felicia Ienculescu-Popovici is a dedicated environmentalist, entrepreneur, and founder of the non-profit organization Greenitiative. With a Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Bucharest, Felicia wanted to become involved in solving social and environmental issues at an early stage. She created Greenitiative, an NGO that focuses on promoting climate change awareness, sustainable development, resource conservation, and green building and living.
Felicia's green living initiative, which she and her family experienced, attracted more than 2000 visitors of all ages to their place called Green Mogo. Felicia actively promotes lifestyle change with the goal of reducing climate impact and has recently been invited to speak at conferences and seminars. Her efforts to manage global debates focused on environmental and energy sustainability were further supported by her participation in the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. Department of State.
Among the recent projects of the Greenitiative Association was a zero-energy green building that was used as a teaching tool (The Green Mogo Centre for Training and Energy Counselling), an environmental education project in Romanian schools, and the creation of a permaculture garden on the rooftop of the NGO office building. In recognition of her environmental and entrepreneurial initiatives, Felicia received the “Women of Courage” Award from the U.S. Embassy to Romania in 2014, as well as the Romania Green Building Council's “Green Award” for her green home project in Mogosoaia.
