Renowned lobbyist and government relations expert, Peter Conaty, has an extensive background in California politics. With over a decade of experience as a key staff member in the California Legislature, Conaty has worked diligently to develop invaluable relationships with new members and staff while maintaining personal contacts throughout the Capitol — skills that have been instrumental in navigating the complexities of a term-limited California Legislature.

Before forming Pete Conaty & Associates in February 1996, Conaty held a number of crucial roles in the California Assembly, where he quickly rose through the ranks from a staff-level position dealing with member services to becoming a policy consultant for various committees. His reputation continued to grow, and by 1995, he secured a position as the chief policy consultant, where he shaped and guided policy, advised assembly leaders, and supervised a team of ten.

Conaty’s skill as a lobbyist and advocate lies in his ability to gather support for his clients' interests both in committee and on the floor of the Senate and the Assembly, continuously building bridges and partnerships with key members of the legislature. Conaty's diverse skill set was developed from his years of service in the United States Army, where he rose from private to Lieutenant Colonel, serving two years in Vietnam and seven years in Tokyo.
