Meet Joe Patton, a highly qualified lawyer with a vast background in public defense, litigation, and project management. He pursued his J.D. in Law at St. Mary's University School of Law and previously studied International Studies and Business at Texas State University-San Marcos. His extensive experience as an Assistant Public Defender in various Dallas County courts prepared him for various cases, including criminal defense and legal research. Before joining the Dallas County Public Defenders as an Assistant Public Defender, he was an attorney at Rogers Garcia Patton PLLC, a law clerk at Goldstein, Goldstein & Hilley, and an intern at Mauze & Bagby PLLC. He also worked as a project manager at Architectural Division 8, where he honed his organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

As an Assistant Public Defender, he supported the 194th Judicial District Court, 282nd District Court, and the County Criminal Court at Law No. 1, and defended individuals charged with a wide range of misdemeanors and felonies.
