Head of Internal Talent Acquisition

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Recruitment, I was brought on board to transform the new internal Recruitment Team from infancy to an established direct sourcing team. Built structure and process across all Head-Office and UK Retail Management hires and developed the team to become subject matter experts in their field.

Delivering over 92% of hires through direct channels, I was instrumental in setting the team up for this success and for saving the company over £1.5m per year in agency spend.

The main highlights of my role:

- I managed the teams responsible for Recruiting across all Central Functions, Buying & Merchandising and Retail Management across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Covering Executive Search, Experienced Hires, Contract and Volume hires.

- I developed and implemented Talent Attraction strategies, from volume to unique one off positions, of all levels within the business.

- I built strong, collaborative relationships with business Leadership Teams and the wider HR community to shape, plan and deliver against Primark’s Recruitment needs.

- Seen as a subject matter expert on all corporate Recruiting matters and developed in-house training for Hiring Managers of all levels.

- I am a passionate brand ambassador and recruiting role model, where I lead and coach teams of Recruiters in both Reading & Dublin to excel in their roles.

Resourcing Operations Manager

Sourced all new employees for our exciting new brand, <a href="http://Casafina.com">Casafina.com</a>, from BAA to Head of Marketing.

Managing the end to end recruitment process through a predominantly direct sourcing strategy.

On going support for the development of team members as well as helping to implement the required structure to deliver against business objectives.

Head of Talent

A VC (Balderton & Goldman Sachs) backed Ecommerce business, which incorporates three brands, <a href="http://Worldstores.com">Worldstores.com</a> (Mass choice Home & Garden Furniture), ACHICA (Premium Brand Homewares), and Kiddicare (Mother & Baby Products). Sales in excess of £140m pa & over 750 members of staff.
- Talent Strategy – Responsible for shaping the talent attraction strategy across the business, taking this high growth start up from 160 people to close to 750.
- Talent Acquisition – Reduced agency usage from 90% to 22% whilst hiring over 550 people over 4 years. Saved in excess of £1.4m through the adoption of a rigorous direct sourcing model.
- Tripled the size of the technical team, hiring DevOps, Software Engineers and Data Analytics roles.
- Stakeholder Management – Dealing with stakeholders of all shapes and sizes across all depts. including, but not limited to, Buying, Digital Analytics, Marketing, Ecommerce, Finance, Operations & IT.
- Team-Management – Built a recruiting team of three to increase our ability to direct source. Two in Head office and one based on site in Dartford for blue collar Fleet staff.
- Project Management – Recruitment Work Stream Lead for the Fleet Project; an initiative to switch from 3PL to In-house delivery model which saw an increase to our headcount by 300 people in the space of 4 months.
- ATS Implementation – Researched best in class systems to suit our business. Project managed the rollout of “Workable” as the chosen platform.
- Sourcing – In the absence of little budget, became adept at finding new ways to attract and find Talent, as well as engaging with potential hires. From utilising Social sites, to Chrome extensions and everything in between.
- Governance – Responsible for installing controls across the recruitment process, including reducing agency dominance, improving time to hire and quality of hire. Implemented new recruiting metrics across the Co., which were instrumental in making hiring decisions.

My responsibilities:
Working with Client Service Directors on resource planning, to maximise utilisation time for consultants, by understanding all functional areas of the business, and building up a sound knowledge of consultant skills and experience.
Working in a cross-border capacity across Europe and Africa, to maximise the demand for UK consultants across the group.
Provide Client Service Directors advice on market conditions, skills shortages, rate analysis, and provide the right solution based on this research and collaborative process.
Improved management information concerning consultants to significantly improve the awareness of bench, absence and leave time, so there was minimal disruption on projects and impact on client delivery.
Active in weekly meetings with CSDs to discuss project pipeline, consultant availability/suitability, and support them in project delivery, which also included the ongoing coaching & influencing of CSDs as to the resource best fit.
Developing and maintaining talent pools of suitable candidates across each functional area.
Managing the full recruitment lifecycle for all new consultants, from sourcing to interview to on-boarding. Responsible for benchmarking rates internally, as well as against external markets, whilst always ensuring healthy margins on billable rates.
Developing a social networking strategy to increase our employer brand and use as part of our consultant attraction plan.
Delivered LinkedIn Training to Resourcing teams across Europe and increased the UK’s use of the site.

Project managed the full recruitment lifecycle of Head Office vacancies across all directorates as required, including, HR, Sales, Marketing, IT and Networks.

Ensured the sourcing, selection and joining experience for each hiring manager / candidate is of the highest quality and has the brand at its heart.

Proactively supported the hiring managers on assessment needs to deliver assessment that is fit for purpose ensuring the explicit evaluation of our values and competencies.

Carried out full assessments, including role plays, competency based interviewing, and utilising the online psychometric test "Wave", by Saville Consulting. Formerly part of SHL.
