Kavita Bala

Kavita Bala is a renowned computer scientist, researcher, and academic with extensive experience in the field of computer vision, graphics, and machine learning. She received her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She currently serves as the Dean of Computing and Information Science at Cornell University, where she also heads the Computer Graphics and Vision Group.

Throughout her career, Bala has conducted extensive research in the areas of computational photography, computer graphics, and human-computer interaction. Her work has been published in several prestigious journals and conferences, and she has received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to the field. She is also a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

In addition to her academic work, Bala is also a co-founder of a computer vision startup called GrokStyle, which specializes in visual search and recognition technology.
