Michael Deal is a noteworthy international development leader with extensive experience in non-profit, business, and government sectors. With a strong track record in portfolio expansion, impact achievement, and relationship management, he has held leadership roles as CEO, USAID Mission Director, and Senior Deputy Asst. Administrator. Additionally, he has been successful in engaging large, diverse Boards of Directors, donors, and public-private partnerships. He has a twenty-five-year overseas work and study experience with professional relationships in over 40 countries and is fluent in Spanish.
Deal studied M.A. in Latin American Studies at Georgetown University, and he is a Board Member and Senior Adviser at various iNGOs. He is also the former Founder and President of Democracy4Change.org, the former President and CEO of Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance (VEGA), and the former President and CEO of Crown Agents USA, Inc. Moreover, he served as a Mission Director at USAID/Colombia and the Deputy Assistant Administrator at U.S. Agency for International Development.
