FarmersWeb is an online platform for farms to manage their current wholesale business and gain visibility to new buyers, while letting buyers (including restaurants, schools, corporate kitchens, caterers and retailers) efficiently source local ingredients from multiple farms in just one transaction. It began in the New York tri-state area with a pilot group of 8 farms and 10 buyers and has grown to a nationwide platform.

Basis Farm to Chef provided sales and distribution services for family farms and artisanal producers interested in selling their products directly to wholesale customers in NYC and the surrounding area. I ran daily operations and business development, which involved signing up new producers, managing existing relationships, expanding product lines to meet buyer demands, ensuring the logistics ran smoothly and overseeing the receiving and packing functions in the warehouse. I designed an internal inventory management system to reduce food waste and implemented an external software system that allowed producers to independently update their product availability, resulting in increased efficiencies for both the operations and sales teams.

Served as Director of newly-formed environmental initiative, for which I initiated and managed partnerships with originators of green micro-scale technology in order to benefit Sunflower’s educational programs. I also acted as Managing Editor of quarterly newsletter produced by a team of 10 writers and 4 associate editors.

I was a key member of teams that advised clients across a broad range of corporate finance, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, and ratings advisory. I prepared industry overview materials and developed new fund structures for JPM’s top hedge fund clients.
