Anand Mariappan is a seasoned engineering leader with a rich professional background spanning over various notable companies. Currently, the Director of Engineering at Twitter, Anand previously held senior positions at Reddit and Microsoft. At Reddit, he served as Senior Director of Engineering, leading charters for search, machine learning, data science, platform, and operations, delivering personalized and relevant Reddit experiences across all platforms. His contributions led to the redesign of the Reddit desktop experience and the successful launch of a native video platform, resulting in over 1 billion video views monthly. Anand spent eight years at Microsoft, where he held several engineering leadership roles, notably as Engineering Manager for the PowerBI app experiences and cloud services team, bringing the product to 5 million subscribers.

Anand's academic achievements include an MS in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, a Graduate Research Assistant position at Purdue University's Viper Lab, a BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PSG College of Technology, and Engineering Leadership for Mid-career Professionals, Organizational Leadership from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
