Sathish Egambaram is an accomplished and result-oriented technology leader with over two decades of experience in research to productizing machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) powered software systems for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. He holds 12 patents in the domain of system architecture and imaging subsystem. Sathish is interested in areas such as deep learning algorithm development, computer vision, machine learning, and developing hardware accelerators for image processing and AI applications.

Throughout his career, Sathish has shown strong technical abilities and leadership skills in bringing research into production. He has been a lead in large projects and managed cross-functional teams with diverse technical skills. He has architected a low-power embedded vision engine, unique OMAP3 and OMAP4 SoC Architecture widely used in several products such as Google Glass, Kindle Tablets, Nook, Parrot Airdrone, and designed physical design technique to implement Thru Silicon Via based memory in SoC.

Sathish is currently Leading the Algorithm development and Hardware for computer vision in Google. He has delivered DNN based Imaging algorithms for pedestrian detection, face recognition, and extracting facial feature information from 3D sensors. Also, he has delivered machine learning based models that detect human sentiments/emotions from various modalities such as audio, Bio-signals, and text.

Before joining Google, Sathish has served as Lead - Machine Vision Algorithm/System Architecture at Amazon Lab126, Manager - Kindle Platform Architecture at Amazon Lab126, SoC Architect / OMAP HW Platform Manager - SMTS at Texas Instruments, Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer at Aatyanic Energy Corporation, and also held multiple positions in Texas Instruments such as TSV (Thru Silicon Via) Design Lead - MGTS - CTC, Design Manager/Lead, Physical Design / Timing Closure Lead, and Physical Design Engineer, Synthesis & STA at INSIL Corporation.
