Alia Sabbs
Alia Sabbs is a highly experienced and accomplished educator who has dedicated her career to improving education outcomes for children in the United States. She is a graduate of Spelman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, and Teachers College, Columbia University, where she completed a Masters in Education and Education Policy.
Over the years, Sabbs has worked in a variety of roles within the education sector, including as an 8th grade Humanities Instructor at Capital City PCS, a 7th grade RELA Instructor at Drew-Freeman Middle School, and a Curriculum Designer at District of Columbia Parks and Recreation. She was also a 2010 Corps Member at Teach for America and a Graduate Fellow at Education Pioneers.
Sabbs has also held leadership positions in the New York City Department of Education, most notably as a Showcase Schools Senior Director and a Learning Partners Program Facilitator. She has also worked with Vocabslam, a program that aims to improve vocabulary skills among students.
Through her varied roles and experiences, Alia Sabbs has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving education outcomes for disadvantaged children. She brings to the table expertise in curriculum design, teacher coaching and training, education policy analysis, and program evaluation.
