The marketing director is responsible for preparing, maintaining and implementing a comprehensive and detailed marketing plan, including a media plan, for promoting the activities of the Society locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. 

In December 2020 the Canadian Birkie Marketing Team launched the Canadian Virtual Birkie 2021 as an alternative for the in-person races. Approximately 1100 people around the world participated in this event. It also gave the Canadian Birkie the opportunity to brand its society in more provinces and across borders. Participants engaged with the virtual birkie through social media channels more than 3000 pictures were shared.
