Madina Gasimi
Madina Gasimi is a culture projects manager and curator from Moscow, Russia. She has a diverse educational background, including a degree in Nanotechnology and various degrees in Curatorship, Art History, Criticism, and Conservation. Gasimi has held several positions in different organizations, including being a Methodologist at Moscow City Network Galleries and a Guest Curator at The State Central Film Museum.
She has produced a number of sociocultural and art projects focused on developing relations between art, people, cultural spaces, and the city in deprived urban areas and outskirts of Moscow. Gasimi is known for curating exhibitions of underground Russian artists from Siberia and the Ural region and producing non-profit documentary film programs focused on the issues relating to modern Russian society.
Gasimi is defined as a culture ambassador who promotes local cultures and ensures transmission of cultural values. Given her experience as a refugee, Gasimi is involved in making inclusive exhibition and educational projects concerned with migration and refugees through other people's personal experiences and references in art and culture. Her mission is to help others see the world from a non-privileged perspective by discovering art, cultural heritage, national culture, and traditions of other ethnicities and nationalities.
