Grace Cheung is a seasoned digital strategist and marketing communications professional with over 15 years of experience. She has built visibility for mission-driven campaigns, companies, and organizations, and has used tech and innovation to improve people's lives. Cheung has led social media strategy for former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, New York State Governor Cuomo, Mayor Bloomberg's administration, and the City of New York. Cheung has helped the State of New York launch text lines to fight heroin addiction and create websites that help inmates apply for clemency, and facilitated partnerships with tech startups to crowdsource fuel supplies in emergencies. She has also taught social media workshops to veterans, seniors, and lifelong public servants. Cheung's background includes studying pre-med, working for a newspaper in Bangkok during a coup, advocating for refugee women and children, and studying abroad in Vietnam. She graduated from Brown University and is a native of Queens, NY. Cheung is currently the Senior Communications Officer at the MacArthur Foundation and has formerly held positions as the Assistant Director of Communications at the University of Chicago, Director of Digital Communications & Citizen Engagement at the State of New York, and Senior Marketing Manager at New York City Economic Development Corporation.
