Alana Coates
Alana Coates is an accomplished art historian, curator, and arts administrator with a Master's degree in Art History & Criticism from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Bachelor's degree in Art History & Fine Art from the University of Rhode Island. Coates has studied at Harvard University, and she brings over a decade of experience in the arts industry to the table.
Coates has worked as an independent curator, Director of Exhibitions at Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at Albright College's Freedman Gallery, and Curator of the Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival. Additionally, she has held several other roles in the arts, including Communications and Marketing Manager at The McNay Art Museum, Art History Instructor at The Art Institutes, and Associate Director at Ruiz-Healy Art.
Coates is also an accomplished writer, having contributed to ART Magazine San Antonio. She has extensive experience in development and membership, having worked as a Development Administrative Assistant at San Antonio Museum of Art and as Membership & Sponsorship Coordinator at GALLERY NIGHT PROVIDENCE.
