Richard Schwartz is a well-known authority on Judaism and vegetarianism, mathematics and global survival, and applying Jewish values to protect the planet. With over four decades of experience as a professor, author, and activist, he has written extensively on Jewish teachings about compassion towards animals, and seeks to reduce the mistreatment of animals in factory farms. Richard is also the President of the Jewish Vegetarians of North America (JVNA) and the Society of Ethical and Religious Vegetarians (SERV). He has produced a documentary and contributed over 200 articles and podcasts to JewishVeg.com/schwartz. Richard holds a PhD in Applied Mechanics/Civil Engineering and a Master's in Civil Engineering (Structures).
