Adrian Miller is a remarkable culinary historian, food writer, and professional speaker with a unique passion for celebrating African American foodways and cookery. With a full recognition of soul food's place in America's greatest cuisines, Adrian has devoted himself to exploring, researching, and sharing the traditions, techniques, and stories of African American cooks. He is a 2014 James Beard Foundation Book Award Winner and was nominated for the 2018 NAACP Image Award.

Adrian's educational background is quite impressive, having studied International Relations at Stanford University, and later earned a J.D. in Law from Georgetown University Law Center. With years of experience under his belt, Adrian has worked in several vital positions ranging from campaign manager for CU Regent Stephen Ludwig to associate at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Green and McRae LLP, to executive director at Colorado Council of Churches. He has authored several books, including Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time, and Running Fronz.

Aside from being a professional speaker at The Soul Food Scholar, Adrian has equally served as a board member at Stanford Alumni Association, General Counsel and Director of Outreach at The Bell Policy Center, and Special Assistant to the President, among others.
