Muhammed Akinyemi is a skilled cross-sectoral editor, journalist, and creative writer with a passion for development journalism, tech, governance, history, economy, and human rights. He has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ilorin and training from the National Training Academy in Egypt. As a writer, his works have been published on Space in Africa, SatNews Magazine, Sun-Connect, Contrepoints, New Dawn Newspaper, Nigerian Tribune, Sahara Reporters, African Liberty, and more. He has also worked as an editorial assistant at African Liberty, minority Africa, and as an editor at Space in Africa before joining HumAngle.
At HumAngle, Muhammed serves as a sub-editor, bringing his expertise to document, report, and solve human insecurity cases across Africa. He is also an alumnus of Earth Charter’s Leadership, Sustainability and Ethics program, a certified World Literacy Foundation Ambassador, and a certified Global Citizenship Educator under UNESCO-APCEIU. Muhammed believes in collaborations, leading sustainable development across tri-sectors - private, public and non-governmental.
Muhammed has an exceptional ability to tell stories and facilitate the telling of the most important ones. When not writing, he helps other storytellers refine their craft as an editor. He runs Boot Camp X Leadership Academy for young Africans to connect with mentors from various fields such as tech, community development, civic engagement, and media.
