Mateen Motavaf
Mateen Motavaf, a Junior at Boston University's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation, is on a pre-med track and studying Human Physiology. He is deeply interested in biomedical research that relates to type 1 diabetes and regenerative medicine. Over the past few years, Mateen has had remarkable opportunities to conduct immunology and pathology research at prestigious institutions like Northwestern, Stanford, and Joslin Diabetes center. Currently, he is working as an undergraduate research assistant at The Kissler Laboratory at Joslin Diabetes Center, conducting research alongside Dr. Kiaf. Mateen is also a passionate founder of a 501(c) nonprofit organization called The Chronic Illness Education and Prevention Association (CIEPA), whose mission is to raise awareness regarding chronic disease and inform the general public of preventative techniques. Mateen hopes to be heavily involved in transplant surgery and public health in the future.
