David McGuire is an environmental educator, author, and conservation filmmaker with a master's degree in environmental health from the University of California, Berkeley. As the director of the nonprofit Shark Stewards, an Earth Island Institute project, he applies education, science, and advocacy to fishing policy and creating marine protected areas. He has a demonstrated history of working in marine wildlife and habitat protection policy, and he is skilled in environmental advocacy, underwater photography, documentary film production, writing, and environmental action. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, where he educates students on marine conservation. With his extensive experience in ocean exploration, he has traveled the world's oceans sharing stories on shark and marine protection.
