Ayaz Shaikh is a highly recognized project finance lawyer with over 25 years of experience in more than 35 countries. His expertise ranges widely in various sectors, including oil and gas, renewable energy, mining, natural resources, infrastructure, telecom, industrial plants, sports arenas, hotels, and commercial buildings. He has represented sponsors, investors, banks, governments, and multilaterals in developing, constructing, financing, or acquiring significant projects around the world.

Ayaz has contributed notably to some pioneering projects such as Facebook's satellite projects to expand internet connectivity in Africa, advising the World Bank's first Prototype Carbon Fund investment, and developing Mongolia's vast network of rail infrastructure. Many organizations and publications have recognized Ayaz's leadership skills in the industry, including Law360, Who's Who, Chambers, Legal500, Smart CEO, and Euromoney's Guide to the World's Top Project Finance Lawyers.

Ayaz received his Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs from Yale University cum laude, with distinction in the major. He later graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center with a Doctor of Law degree (JD). Ayaz is currently a Member/Co-chair of Project Development & Finance Practice at Mintz, and earlier, he was a partner at both Sidley Austin LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.
