Rob May is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and thought leader in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a knack for creating and growing successful start-ups. He has a deep technical background in the areas of Machine Intelligence and Brain-Machine interfaces. Prior to co-founding and serving as the CTO of Dianthus, a company that acquires businesses and improves them through proprietary AI tools, Rob co-founded Backupify and Talla.

Rob's passion for complex systems and interest in economics, brains, and computers led him to become a prolific angel investor with stakes in over 100 start-ups, most of which leverage AI in one way or another. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors and investing activities, Rob writes a newsletter called "Investing in AI," where he offers his insights into the latest developments and trends in AI.

Rob earned a BSEE and MBA from the University of Kentucky. He was also once a Partner at PJC, a venture capital firm with a focus on helping entrepreneurs build groundbreaking technology companies.
