Diego Urrutia is a seasoned energy industry professional with a strong background in automation, electrical engineering, and grid control. He studied at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where he earned his degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in industrial automation. With years of experience at Siemens, he has held several leadership positions where he has been responsible for the digital grid, smart metering, and SCADA solutions across South America.

In his current role as head of Grid Control & Smart Metering business for South America (excluding Brazil), Urrutia oversees the entire value chain, including sales, bid management, engineering, and commissioning. He has a proven track record of developing market strategies, coordinating the technology area for MCS, and reviewing the full implementation of projects. He is skilled in communication, business development, financial reporting, and project management, making him an asset to any team.
