Advising Chinese construction contractors during the pre-contract and contract stages and advising on a number of disputes, including ICC and ICSID arbitrations. I drafted the Statement of Claim for a c.$40m claim brought in an ICC arbitration I also took responsibility for the production of a practical legal guide which was distributed to the offices of our client around the world, and wrote a number of articles aimed at familiarising Chinese contractors with relevant areas of English law.

Paralegal in the Construction Advisory and Disputes department.I worked on High Court cases in the TCC and international arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA and EDF rules.Experience included: (1) being closely involved in the lead-up to an arbitration held in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, under the EDF rules and travelling to Dar-es-Salaam to assist the partner-advocate who was leading the case. At the arbitration hearing I was the person most familiar with the documentation, having worked full-time on the case for the preceding three months, and made an important contribution to the client's success in obtaining a favourable outcome; and(2) overseeing the production of an 80 volume supporting bundle to a Statement of Case on an ICC arbitration. I was liaising with all members of the 5-strong team working on this case to bring together the supporting documentation they required in both electronic and physical format. I was also responsible for delegating tasks to other paralegals and trainees, and was praised for my positive contribution in this role.
