Carroll Muffett is a prominent figure in the movement for human rights and environmental protection. With a background in international affairs and law, Muffett has held leadership positions in various organizations, including serving as Executive Director of the Climate Law & Policy Project, Deputy Campaigns Director of Greenpeace, and Sr. Director for International Conservation at Defenders of Wildlife. Currently, Muffett is President & CEO of The Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL), where he continues to advocate for legal action to combat issues such as climate change, pollution, and deforestation.

Muffett received a Bachelor's degree in Ethics in International Affairs from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. He started his career as an Associate Attorney at Covington & Burling before dedicating his work to environmental advocacy.

Through his extensive experience and legal expertise, Muffett aims to promote and establish sustainable practices that protect the environment and human rights. He advocates for a collaborative effort between governments, corporations, and individuals to create long-lasting change.
