Our goal is to provide evidence-based research and analytical insight to the medical community to improve healthcare quality and safety. We do this by working with our healthcare partners to address gaps and promote knowledge in areas that have the potential for greatest positive impact. We also make our data available to physicians and researchers working in quality improvement, patient safety and medical education.

Destination Canada is Canada’s national tourism organization, working in 11 markets world-wide to drive Canada’s success as a global destination.

I oversee a team of data scientists and market research professionals to use advanced technologies and techniques to collect, integrate and analyze data to deliver insights to our marketing teams in Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, France, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, and Mexico; and to the industry as a whole.

I work closely within our C-suite and Board to lead the development of systems and processes to 'measure what matters' - identifying and refining our best key performance indicators so that we can continually move towards becoming a more effective data-driven marketing organization.

Destination Canada

I developed and launched a Government of Canada first - a pilot big data program to assess risk of incoming cargo shipments based on data profiles.  I worked closely with my colleagues in Ottawa to design and develop the program to administer the newly passed regulations on medical marihuana.  I also managed program that tracks unexpected drug reactions and encourages health professionals and citizens to report these reactions;  In addition to this, I led regional initiatives related to policy, planning, performance measurement and evaluation; and I was the branch lead on import-related policy and operational policy files.

I led the national risk assessment process for critical infrastructure - working with over 30 fields of expertise to assess the risks to key infrastructure from man-made and natural events.
