Leia Guccione, an accomplished professional with a broad technical background in energy and sustainability, has made her mark as the Principal of the Rocky Mountain Institute. She brings with her a wealth of experience from her time as a United States Naval Officer with leadership and management experience. Guccione has also served as a STEM Outreach leader for the Society of Women Engineers and is a Truman National Security Project Defense Council alumna.

Her educational background includes a Master of Science in Sustainable Development from the University of London, Certified Nuclear Operator at the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power Program, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Political Science from Iowa State University.

In her role at Rocky Mountain Institute, Guccione has spearheaded numerous projects focused on advancing the energy transition, such as the development of a guide for renewable energy procurement, a deep decarbonization pathways analysis for Jamaica, and a report on distributed energy resources. Prior to her work with RMI, Guccione served as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer at the US Navy Reserve.
