Jim Vernon

Jim Vernon is a seasoned professional in project and organization development with over two decades of experience in the private sector. After a successful career, he joined Front Range Community College in pursuit of his passion for student success. Jim's credentials include a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Pardee RAND Graduate School, an A.B. in Law & Society from Brown University, and a high school diploma in General Education from New Providence High School.

Currently, Jim serves as the Department Chair responsible for Business, Information Technology, Education, and Manufacturing at Front Range Community College. Prior to this role, he was the Faculty Lead and an Adjunct Instructor at the same institution. Jim also worked as a Faculty at the University of Phoenix and served as the Managing Partner at Learn More For Less and Vernon Software Management.

Jim has extensive experience in managing projects as he worked as a Managing Consultant at Quilogy, a Project Manager at Oliver, Wyman and Company, and a Graduate Fellow at The RAND Corporation. He also held research positions at The Boston Consulting Group and the Information Sciences Institute. Additionally, he was the Manager of eBusiness and Market Research at John Deere Credit.

In his free time, Jim enjoys exploring Colorado's scenic attractions and playing Texas Hold 'Em. He also takes care of his dog, Theodore, and helps students develop their best selves. Jim's passion for student success reflects in his work as he continues to lead students to reach their full potential.
