David Alan Foster
David Alan Foster is a versatile designer and impact entrepreneur with decades of experience in various design disciplines. He's also an avid inventor and startup founder, passionate about bringing better tools and experiences to fellow inventors. David is the CEO of nvntr Inc., a company that provides information, education, and opportunities for "interdependent inventors" through the first comprehensive global resource for inventors. He's also the founder and former executive director of Designfluence.org, a nonprofit that aimed to bring affordable product design resources to The Other 90%.
David's professional journey began with the study of Industrial Design at the Academy of Art University and Written & Graphic Communications at Pierce College. He then worked in various fields of design, from industrial to web, graphic, typography, package, environmental, and display design. Over the years, he's been at the forefront of various waves of innovation, including digital typography, all-digital graphic design studios, and digital film service bureaus. He was an early adopter of the Mac and LaserWriter publications system and one of the early web designers. In 1990, he co-founded the first nonprofit education foundation to connect schools over the Internet, and in 1995, he founded the first international magazine for independent inventors. He also co-produced the first international trade show for inventors.
Currently, David is mainly focused on nvntr Inc. and its mission to provide inventors with the best tools, resources, and networking opportunities. He's also consulting with a water technology company that could have a significant impact on increasing the world's freshwater supply at scale. David's multifaceted professional experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and creativity make him a valuable asset to any project he embarks on.
