Kien Truong, a US citizen born and raised in Vietnam has been an active community leader and advocate for inclusive policies and strategic investments, particularly for the AAPI community. With a background in Global Justice and Human Rights from Drexel University and Associate of General Studies from Portland Community College, Kien has served on numerous organizations such as Chief Of Staff, Senator Kayse Jama at State of Oregon, Multnomah County's Community Involvement Committee, Young Democrats of Oregon's Treasurer at Democratic Party of Oregon, and the City of Portland's Asian American and Pacific Islanders Advisory Council. He is known for his work in addressing the generational and political differences within the AAPI community and building the pipeline for young AAPI to navigate and participate in the policy-making process. Outside of his regular work, Kien serves as the Executive Director for the Asian and Pacific Islander Community Coalition of Oregon and holds various leadership positions in other organizations.
