Noman Ali is a British national currently holding the position of Chief Accounting Officer for Financial and Regulatory Reporting at HSBC Group in London at a Managing Director level. He serves as a risk steward for external and regulatory reporting, including overseeing the HSBC Group's Annual Report and Accounts, Pillar 3, PRA regulatory reporting, and ESG Report.

Prior to his current role, Noman worked as the Chief Accounting Officer for HSBC MENA region and as the HSBC UAE Financial Controller. His responsibilities included managing financial controls, external and regulatory reporting, risk weighted assets, and accounting policies.

He has also taken on CFO responsibilities for specific HSBC entities in the MENA region, participating in Board meetings and governance forums like EXCO, ALCO, and Risk Management Committee meetings. Noman was previously involved in business finance partnering, reporting, and analysis as the Senior Manager Global Banking Finance in UAE.

During a secondment, Noman served as the Chief Financial Officer at a Qatari bank, where he successfully introduced a new budgeting, planning, and management reporting process. He has engaged extensively with regulators such as PRA, DFSA, and Central Bank of UAE, as well as with Audit Committees, C-level executives, and rating agencies, and has been involved in investor relations meetings.

With over 20 years of international experience spanning the USA, UK, and the Middle East, Noman has held key roles in finance-related areas such as Group M&A transactions, treasury finance, internal audit, stress testing, investor relations, and due diligence. His expertise includes financial due diligence, commercial decision-making, and substantial project management experience.

In terms of education, Noman Ali has studied Islamic Finance Qualification at the Islamic Finance at Securities & Investment Institute, completed his Certified Public Accountant studies at the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, and obtained his Chartered Accountant qualification in Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

His professional journey includes roles as the Chief Accounting Officer at HSBC, Executive Manager at Ernst & Young, and Senior Manager in Audit and Risk at KPMG in the UK and USA.
