Ulrike Pfreundt
Ulrike Pfreundt is an interdisciplinary ocean scientist with a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbial Oceanography. She is a Fellow of Singularity University's Global Solutions Program with a keen interest in Ocean Sciences, Biosphere Protection, Philosophy, and the Future of the Global Economy. Ulrike values complex, critical thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration, which are key strengths of hers. Her passion lies in coral reefs, leading her to co-found rrreefs, a non-profit organization focused on rethinking, rebuilding, and regenerating coral reefs using a 3D-printed reef-system. Through a combination of artistic vision, scientific rigor, and cutting-edge technology, they aim to restore reef ecosystem services and biodiversity. The unique rrreef brick system, made of clay, allows for customizable and scalable reef structures.
