Responsible for architecture and leading development of an Internet-Of-Things platform for intelligent home heating and smart-grid services (demand side management).I led and participated in a development team, employing agile development practices. We developed an embedded Linux based smart home gateway product to manage and optimise energy usage in a connected home with analytics at the edge. I am skilled and experienced in various software languages and frameworks including Python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, spark), C/C++, Java and Matlab. I planned and executed complex systems integrations with multiple partners including a high security link to the Irish national grid.I worked closely with internal sales and business groups as well as being front-of-house and point of contact for important industrial and academic partners. I have presented our team’s work to customers, execs, partners and government.Before taking on a role in RealValue I was a Machine Learning consultant. Intelligent algorithm design and development with machine learning, prediction and mathematical optimisation techniques. Rapid prototyping and management of multiple priorities. Lead on core research project with PM responsibilities. Member of agile dev team (JIRA, git). Interface directly with external project partners and customers. Development of embedded Linux devices with C++ and python to develop analytics applications with prototyping in Matlab. Fixational's software engine sits in the background of any app and observes the eye movements of the user, analysing gestures which can be linked to any app functionality.Undertook various development roles: machine learning, iOS, computer vision (OpenCV, C++, C, Objective-C) and server side (Python, Django). Real-time vision system development and optimisation for legacy mobile hardware.Managed teams of in-house and outsourced engineers to bring Wink Camera to the iOS App Store.Presented and pitched the company across Europe. Winner and finalist in numerous European startup awards. Raised capital, negotiated terms with new shareholders. Attracted attention from and had meetings with major mobile OEMs. Managed all aspects of finances.Developed a focus-group system to monitor eye-movements through the browser using webcams. Built web service on AWS using Python, Django, C++ and MySQL. Trialled with a global consumer brand on UK-wide ad campaign.Selected for entrepreneur development program. Received intensive training, workshops and mentorship over six months in financial management, product & service marketing, sales, value proposition development, presenting and international business planning.Achievements:- App reached top ten paid photo apps in eight countries including China and India- Featured by The Next Web as "App of the Day"
