James (Jim) Nolen
James (Jim) Nolen is an accomplished finance professional with over four decades of experience. He is a finance faculty at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and has been teaching corporate finance and entrepreneurship since 1980. Additionally, he is the president of CFO Services, Inc., an Austin-based small business financial consulting firm. Nolen is also a board member of Balcones Resources, Centurion Medical Products, and American Bank of Commerce.
Nolen has an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas and a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin - Red McCombs School of Business. He has a range of specialties, including banking, M&A advisory, financial analysis, entrepreneurship, strategy, and executive education. Nolen's experience in turnaround management has helped many businesses get back on track.
He is a Distinguished Senior Lecturer Emeritus at The University of Texas at Austin and a former associate director of Hicks Muse Tate & Furst Center for Private Equity at McCombs School of Business. Nolen has previously served on the advisory board of WorkSTEPS, director of Flynn Construction Inc., and American Bank of Commerce.
