Emanuele Della Valle is an accomplished computer science professional with over 15 years of experience. He obtained a laurea in computer science from Politecnico di Milano and later went on to pursue a doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Scienze Informatiche from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Della Valle is currently an associate professor at Politecnico di Milano, where he brings his wealth of experience and knowledge to bear in researching topics in data science, Big Data, stream processing, web information retrieval, and semantic technologies.
Throughout the years, Della Valle has worked with several organizations in various sectors, including telecoms, oil, and gas, as well as collaborators like IBM, Siemens, Oracle, and Indra, among others. His pioneering work in stream reasoning has seen him develop innovative solutions that help organizations address velocity and variety dimensions of Big Data simultaneously. His groundbreaking research has been applied in analyzing social media, mobile telecom, and IoT data streams to enable real-time decisions. Della Valle co-founded Fluxedo in 2017, a company that provides stream reasoning technologies to address big data's velocity and variety dimensions. In 2019, he started Quantia Consulting, aimed at supporting organizations in implementing data culture in their operations.
