Jon Bøhmer is a seasoned entrepreneur, inventor, and designer with a passion for creating market-leading products that address user needs. He entered the tech scene as a teenager founding his first multimedia/TV software company, Scala Inc., in 1987 and has since founded two more companies in the same space, Pronto TV AS in 1998 and Snap TV in 2004. Specializing in combining different technologies to create user-friendly and cost-effective products, Jon has assembled and worked with hundreds of super smart people in different fields worldwide to make his designs a reality.
His favorite activity is designing user interfaces and physical products, which has been a challenge he has embraced. In 2006, Jon founded Kyoto Energy Ltd. in Kenya, fascinated by solar energy, and moved to Africa in 2008. The main mission in his life is solving energy poverty, although he remains committed to pioneering new innovations in multimedia.
Jon studied at Berkley High School and completed the Programme for Executive Development at IMD Lausanne to further his education. He previously served as Founder & CEO of Pronto TV, Founder and Chairman of SnapTV, Founder & CEO of Scala Inc., and Founder & CEO of Kyoto Group AS.
