Building teams and technology foundations.  My teams built high quality mobile products to entertain millions of users worldwide.  We were involved with Yahoo! Fantasy Sports, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Video! and the native/mobile advertising elements of Yahoo!'s global advertising network.In London as our main project we specialised in behavioural design and development.  I led the team, which built from scratch a new Fantasy Soccer app for iOS, Mobile and Web, covering the 5 main soccer leagues in Europe and rolling out to international markets.

As Head of Sports Technology at Betfair, I led an organisation spanning three locations and was responsible for the multi-million pound budget of the technology group generating annual revenues in excess of £200M.At Betfair, my main focus areas were:  Organisational structuring, Leadership, Architecture, Automation, CI/CD, Programme Management, Redesigning Quality and Operations processes, technical due diligence (partners and acquisitions).

I Initially worked as a Senior Developer on the backend systems for the EU Yahoo! frontpages.  I subsequently became Manager for Europe's Entertainments, Communities and Billing teams, then after a year took on leading the European Front-page Engineering team through organisational restructuring and building a new global software stack for Yahoo!'s global front-pages.

I was responsible for developing complex telephone applications in Java, PHP and Perl using the Asterisk open source PBX on Slackware Linux. Other software which I developed for Enovi include a java-based telephone conferencing application, a news alerts system, an XSDL diagnostics application for Mailbox Internet, an IVR ADSL availability checker (<a href="http://tinyurl.com/cht3t">http://tinyurl.com/cht3t</a>), plus a set of telephone karaoke systems for partners at Spook New Media.Christopher also offered private freelance/contract work through his company, Spiration Ltd

Working on the wing box design team for the Airbus A380, provided Java based build system for the global iCAD/IIIDL Aircraft modelling system.  Also wrote significant utilities in Lisp, shell and Perl for the purposes of extending the emacs-based development toolchain. Also, analysing point data for aircraft components for analysis or modification purposes.

Positioned within the DDS2 Engineering team, worked on R&D projects including:Development of laser-metrology system for detection of tape-path irregularities in DDS2 systems - Developed in C on DOS 5.2I also developed from scratch a prototype optoelectronic-based DDS head protrusion measurement system, including controller electronics and application software for driving the device. Developed in C on DOS 5.2Other development included test scripts for DDS2 test farms (load, unload, read test data) Developed in C, ksh, awk on HPUX 9/10

Undergraduate

As part of the Royal Academy of Engineering's Engineering Education Continuum, worked for 12 months at Flight Refuelling Ltd, evolving production systems for manufacturing of composite aerospace components.  Key focus areas and reports delivered on Kaizen, Kanban and lean/pull production workflows.  Also performed in-depth financial analysis of direct and indirect costs in composites manufacturing.
