Erica McMonnies is an accomplished writer and Chartered Professional Accountant with extensive experience in cross-border taxation between Canada and the US. Her professional journey starts with her studies at the Gulf Islands Secondary School in British Columbia, Canada, where she attended high school. Later, she earned her Chartered Professional Accountant designation at CPA BC and pursued a BBA in Accounting with an internship designation at Camosun College.

Erica has worked in various positions throughout her professional career, gaining experience in accounting, tax preparation, compliance, and bookkeeping. She honed her accounting skills as a Tax Preparer/Junior Accountant Co-op at LL Brougham Inc., Chartered Accountant. She also contributed to the BC Public Service as an Accounts Analyst and Sectoral Compliance Initiative Officer Co-op. Erica's experience extends beyond accounting and compliance as she worked as a bookkeeper for a local home inspection business and a cake decorator at Thrifty Foods. She also worked as a Guest Service representative at Broadmead Bakery and held the position of Front End/Grocery Supervisor at Red Barn at Matticks.

In her most recent position, Erica served as a Senior Accountant at Hutcheson & Co LLP Chartered Accountants, where she demonstrated her ability to handle complex accounting and taxation situations efficiently. Her experience in Canada-US cross-border taxation, combined with her excellent writing skills, helped her crack the 2016 CFE (Common Final Examination) with ease.
