Stuart Lawson

Stuart Lawson is a seasoned banking executive with an impressive track record in managing banks for growth and in crisis. With over 36 years of banking experience, Stuart has led both Citi and HSBC's Russian operations and was even nominated one of Russia's leading bankers by the Central Bank, the Banks' Associations, and the Ministry of Finance.

During his tenure as CEO/Chairman of banks in Russia spanning 16 years, Stuart played a crucial role in developing the Russian banking sector. He has also established his position in consulting in the banking market in the last 7 years. Stuart created a series of thought leadership workshops and seminars and is a frequent public speaker.

Stuart is an honorary visiting professor at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and a senior lecturer at Graduate School of Management St. Petersburg State University. He has also held various positions at the Association of European Business, including Vice Chairman, Banking Committee, and Chairman, Finance and Investment Committee.

With 20 years of experience in the Russian market, including 11 emerging and Western markets and experience in crisis management in five, Stuart brings a wealth of expertise to the table. His skills include senior management, credit risk management, corporate finance, business planning, and more.
