Nick Whitaker is a recent honors graduate from Brown University with a BA in philosophy and a specialization in logic and language. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he delved deeply into topics such as formal systems, semantics, Bayesianism, and disagreement - all in the pursuit of understanding how to arrive at rational and logical conclusions about the world.

After completing his studies, Nick has since focused on exploring how emerging technologies impact culture and regimes, as well as the history of human progress. He is the managing editor of Works In Progress, a prominent quarterly journal devoted to showcasing the latest works on these important topics. Nick's writing and interviews on related subjects have appeared in leading publications such as Quillette, Palladium Magazine, Brown Political Review, and Athwart.

Nick is also no stranger to academics and professional associations. While at Brown, he founded and directed the Brown Effective Altruism Initiative and taught a course on the subject. He was also a senior editor of "A Priori," Brown's Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy, and was president of the Philosophy Department Undergraduate Group. Additionally, Nick has been a research assistant at the Hoover Institution, consulted at Stripe, and was a summer fellow at the Hudson Institute in DC.

Apart from his academic career, Nick is also skilled in outdoor sports and activities. He is a PADI Divemaster with specialties in wreck, deep, drysuit, and nitrox diving, as well as a USSA level 100 ski coach. He has also worked as a ski instructor and windsurf instructor, and was the captain of the Brown men’s ski team. Nick enjoys studying the history of European cinema in his free time.
