Juan Obando is an experienced attorney in Private International Law and Technology and Innovation Law with 20 years of practice. He has represented various national and international corporations and has extensive expertise in litigating in arbitration and judicial proceedings concerning private law issues. Aside from his legal practice, Obando is a professor of Technology and Law and Private International Law, having taught in prestigious universities such as the Universidad de Costa Rica, Universidad de La Salle, and Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Law, Innovation, Science, and Technology at the Université de Montréal, drafting a thesis on the interconnection between Private International Law and Innovation. Obando has also studied Specialization, Private and Public International Law at the Hague Academy of International Law and has earned various degrees in Law and Private International Law from prestigious universities like Universidad de Salamanca, Universidad de Murcia, and Universidad Interamericana de Costa Rica. Obando has also held different positions such as the Director of Postgraduate Studies in Law at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, former General Manager and Counsel of E-Commerce Center, and former owner of OPRLEGAL.
