David Frankel, an accomplished entrepreneur and investor, is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Founder Collective, a seed-stage venture capital fund with headquarters in Boston and New York. With an honors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School, he started his career as Co-Founder and CEO of Internet Solutions, the leading internet service provider (ISP) in Africa. Internet Solutions was later acquired by NTT.
David has a remarkable portfolio in the startup world, with his lead investment in Coupang being one of the most significant venture capital returns ever. He is also a lead investor of companies like PillPack, BuzzFeed, and SeatGeek, among others. He has previously invested and served as a board member of OLO Online Ordering, hunch, Opower, and many more.
David has been widely recognized for his success in the technology and startup industry, being named the South African Technology Achiever of the Century in 2000 and subsequently earning a spot in the Global Leader of Tomorrow (GLT) program by the World Economic Forum. He is also a founding board member of Endeavor SA.
