Suzanne Kearns, PhD
Suzanne Kearns, PhD is an internationally acclaimed aviation academic, author, consultant, and educator with a diverse portfolio of expertise. She holds a diploma in Commercial Pilot Flight Program and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a Master of Science in Human Factors and Systems Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Ph.D. in Education from Capella University. Her areas of specialty include international aviation, human factors, safety management, and training methodologies. Suzanne has received numerous awards for her outstanding contribution to aviation education and has served as the Past-President of the University Aviation Association (UAA). Suzanne is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS) and a contributor to several aviation-related journals, including Macleans, Skies Magazine, and Civil Aviation Training (CAT) Magazine.
Suzanne has written six books, including her latest endeavour "Engaging the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals," and is the lead editor of "Engaging the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals" in 2020. Suzanne also provides mentorship to other aviation textbook authors for Routledge's "Aviation Fundamentals" series of textbooks, which provides undergraduate aviation students with high-quality yet engaging books. Suzanne is also a professional instructional designer and e-learning developer for international agencies, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
