Philipp Kandal is an accomplished technology manager, entrepreneur, and co-founder of the Startup Weekend in Cluj with a passion for the startup world. He currently leads the engineering team as Head of Engineering, Geo at Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading super app that provides geo-location services for navigation, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data technologies. Philipp has extensive experience in Location Based Services and has played an instrumental role in mapping efforts and setting up strategies for building the best geo-services with a team of experts for Southeast Asia. Philipp’s expertise in technology and his involvement in the startup ecosystem have also seen him serve as Chairman at Techsylvania and co-organizer of the Wherecamp in Berlin.
