Nigel Matuschka
Nigel Matuschka is a highly experienced Chartered Professional mechanical engineer, with two decades of engineering Project Management under his belt. He has worked extensively in New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the UK in various industries, including Power (Wind, Geothermal and Hydro), Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, and Pulp & Paper. Nigel's experience ranges from feasibility studies, consenting, process design, tender preparation, detailed mechanical design, engineering to construction of power plants, and petroleum installations. Notably, his involvement in the design and construction of the 160 MW Te Mihi Power Station Project was significant. Additionally, he has carried out project engineering and construction management of Oil & Gas production platforms, petroleum installations, process design for plant O&M enhancements, concept designs, and FEED for green and brownfield developments.
Nigel has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce in Operations Research/Management Science, both with First-Class Honors, from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. His education has given him superior ability to conduct financial assessments, cost-benefit analysis and provide optimized solutions.
Nigel is currently the Principal Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager at WSP, previously Opus International Consultants. Moreover, he also worked as a Senior Project Engineer at Petroleum Solutions Ltd, where he gained valuable experience in engineering construction management, including managing H&S and commercial success. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a member of IPENZ and CPEng 226520.
