Shain Shapiro

Shain Shapiro is an accomplished entrepreneur and music industry expert with a background in philosophy and multimedia communications. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Philosophy from Birkbeck, University of London, a Master of Arts from the University of Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and the University of Leeds. Throughout his career, Shapiro has focused on the intersection of music and urban development, working to build stronger communities through music and culture.

Shapiro is the former Founder and Executive Chairman at Sound Diplomacy and the former Founder and Executive Director at the Center for Music Ecosystems. He has also served as a Board Member and Advisor at Unison, a UK Community Coordinator at Hootsuite Media Inc., and a UK and Europe Press Manager at One Little Indian. Additionally, he has worked with the Canadian Independent Music Association in a variety of roles.
