Madison Campbell
Madison Campbell is an accomplished advocate and innovator in the field of sexual assault. Her venture, Leda Health, aims to revolutionize the way sexual assault is handled holistically. Campbell, who has an academic background in cognitive science, apparel design, and epidemiology, co-founded Leda Health in 2019 with the goal of developing a system that addresses the prevalent issues in the management of sexual assault.
In the United States, 77% of sexual assaults are not reported, and there are only 1,231 registered sexual assault nurse examiners. Campbell recognized the challenges faced by sexual assault survivors, both physically and mentally, which often result in underreporting. Initially, the company developed an at-home sexual assault examination kit, but Campbell and her co-founder soon realized that more work had to be done to eliminate the widespread problems.
Leveraging her experience in mathematical modeling, epidemiology, policy, and women’s rights, Campbell, and Leda Health, now aim to revolutionize forensic collection and testing while providing survivors with access to medical professionals and supportive communities to aid them in their recovery process. The company’s primary focus is on the restoration of autonomy and the administration of care that aligns with the needs of sexual assault survivors.
