Aled Edwards

Dr. Aled Edwards is a renowned biochemist with a strong academic background in biochemistry. He pursued his B.Sc. in Biochemistry with Honours from McGill University before completing his Ph.D. in Biochemistry, supervised by Peter Braun, also at McGill University. Subsequently, he furthered his education by undertaking Post-Doctoral Research under the guidance of Roger Kornberg at Stanford University.

Dr. Edwards has held various key roles in prestigious organizations throughout his career. He currently serves as the Chief Executive at the Structural Genomics Consortium. Previously, he was a Member of Council at the National Research Council Canada, Chair at M4K Pharma, and a Visiting Professor of Chemical Biology at the University of Oxford. He has also served as a Professor at the University of Toronto and held scientific consulting roles in projects such as the ReGenesis TV Series. Additionally, Dr. Edwards has been part of the founding and executive teams of several pharmaceutical companies, including Affinium Pharmaceuticals.
