Jason Terrell

Jason Terrell is a renowned educator and social innovator dedicated to improving the education system in the United States. He began his career as an 8th-grade teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where he mentored, tutored, and coached athletics teams. In 2014, he co-founded and became the Executive Director of Profound Gentlemen, a national agency aimed at increasing male educators of color's representation in the education field. Terrell holds an M.S.Ed in Secondary Education and Teaching from Johns Hopkins University School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government, Philosophy, and Black Studies from Furman University. He is also a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy from The American College of Financial Services.

Beyond his work at Profound Gentlemen, Terrell has received multiple fellowship experiences and has been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 as one of the world's brightest social innovators dedicated to bringing about equality and change for boys and male educators of color. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, discovering new music, and boxing.
